Matthew - ch 17 v 21 - 27

  1. However, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.
  2. And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man will be betrayed into the hands of men:
  3. And they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised again: And they were exceedingly grieved.
  4. And when they had come to Capernaum, they that received tribute-money, came to Peter, and said, Doth not your Master pay tribute?
  5. He saith, Yes. And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? from whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? from their own children, or from strangers?
  6. Peter saith to him, From strangers. Jesus saith to him, Then are the children free.
  7. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take the fish that first cometh up: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: take that, and give to them for me and thee.
