John - ch 6 v 41 - 60

  1. The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which has come down out of heaven.
  2. And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we have known? how then does he say, I am come down out of heaven?
  3. Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
  4. No one can come to me except the Father who has sent me draw him, and I will raise him up in the last day.
  5. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every one that has heard from the Father himself, and has learned of him, comes to me;
  6. not that any one has seen the Father, except he who is of God, he has seen the Father.
  7. Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on me has life eternal.
  8. I am the bread of life.
  9. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and died.
  10. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
  11. I am the living bread which has come down out of heaven: if any one shall have eaten of this bread he shall live for ever; but the bread withal which I shall give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
  12. The Jews therefore contended among themselves, saying, How can he give us this flesh to eat?
  13. Jesus therefore said to them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Unless ye shall have eaten the flesh of the Son of man, and drunk his blood, ye have no life in yourselves.
  14. He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood has life eternal, and I will raise him up at the last day:
  15. for my flesh is truly food and my blood is truly drink.
  16. He that eats my flesh and drinks my blood dwells in me and I in him.
  17. As the living Father has sent me and I live on account of the Father, he also who eats me shall live also on account of me.
  18. This is the bread which has come down out of heaven. Not as the fathers ate and died: he that eats this bread shall live for ever.
  19. These things he said in the synagogue, teaching in Capernaum.
  20. Many therefore of his disciples having heard it said, This word is hard; who can hear it?
